Hodder & Stoughton has acquired world rights to a memoir by rugby commentator and former international player Ian Robertson, who retires this autumn.
Rugby: Talking a Good Game will be published on 15th November (h/b, £20.00).
Robertson, a former fly-half for Scotland who started working as a commentator almost 50 years ago, will look back on his broadcasting career, during which he covered nine British and Irish Lions tours and eight World Cups.
The commentator has previously written more than 30 books and a number of biographies, including those of Bill Beaumont, Andy Irvine, and actor Richard Burton.
Roddy Bloomfield, sports editor at Hodder & Stoughton, struck the deal with the author. He said: "Having already had the fun of working with Ian Robertson on several of his successful books on rugby, I couldn’t be more pleased to know that his highly entertaining autobiographical book will be published by Hodder this autumn."
