Bea Fitzgerald is leaving Hodder & Stoughton, where she has spent two years as an assistant editor, to join The Blair Partnership as a digital agent.
Fitzgerald most recently worked in the Hodder Fiction department and Hodder Studio before that. While there, she acquired titles such as Make You Mine This Christmas by Lizzie Huxley-Jones and Pride and Prejudice on Social Media by Sarah Day and Claire McGowan.
Previously, Fitzgerald worked in the editorial team at Hachette Children’s Group and in marketing at Scholastic.
In her new role at The Blair Partnership, she will “capture the newest opportunities in the rapidly evolving world of digital and online storytelling, both by delivering the biggest and best clients from that space but also finding commercial opportunities for our existing clients”.
The role will not only be limited to e-book clients but also wider digital initiatives for existing clients.
Agency director Rory Scarfe said: “In our ambition to be the leading agency for the greatest storytellers, in recent years we have expanded the scope of our representation beyond publishing and audiovisual to embrace opportunities for our clients in broadcasting, live events, brand partnerships and beyond.
“Bea comes to us with an outstanding reputation for expertise in this field and a brilliantly innovative and expertly informed vision for what can be achieved in digital representation. I was blown away by her ambition for this role and I am confident she can take our representation to even greater heights.”
Fitzgerald said: “I’m so excited to be joining the innovative agenting team at The Blair Partnership. I’ve had a wonderful time at Hodder & Stoughton working with the best authors and most supportive team. I can’t wait for this next chapter in my career, getting to utilise my knowledge of the digital landscape to explore creative opportunities with such a brilliant agency.”
