Diamond Kahn and Woods (DKW) has appointed Anna Holmwood as foreign rights manager to develop the literary agency’s foreign rights department in-house.
Holmwood was previously a literary agent at the Grayhawk Agency in Taipei, Taiwan, and was a founding member of the Emerging Translators Network in London. She has an MPhil in Modern Chinese Studies and a BA in History from Oxford University. She speaks fluent Swedish and Mandarin Chinese, and translates prize-winning novels and narrative non-fiction, including ‘China’s Tolkien’ Jin Yong’s bestselling Legends of the Condor Heroes martial arts fantasy series, the first volume of which, A Hero Born, has just been published by MacLehose Press in the UK.
A DKW spokesperson said: “Having reached the milestone of our fifth birthday in November 2017, we’re thrilled to enter an ambitious new phase of expansion. Anna’s experience, entrepreneurial attitude and enthusiasm made her the perfect fit for this exciting new role, and we’re looking forward to working with her to develop further international opportunities for our clients.”
Holmwood said: “I have been following DKW go from strength to strength since their founding in 2012, and am delighted and honoured to be able to join the team. Ella, Bryony and Elinor have made a name for themselves for their creative eye and client-centred service, and I can’t wait to be able to help them grow. Most of all, I look forward to seeing our fabulous list of authors find homes all over the world.”
DKW was established in 2012 by Ella Kahn and Bryony Woods, with Elinor Cooper joining the agency in 2015.
