Niki Horin has been named the new publishing director of Five Mile at Bonnier Publishing Australia.
Horin's appointment is said to "further cement" Bonnier Publishing Australia’s commitment to delivering world-class children’s publishing in Australia and New Zealand. She joined the team this week and will report to Bonnier Publishing Australia c.e.o. Natasha Besliev.
Bonnier Publishing Australia became part of the Bonnier Publishing Group last year, after it consolidated the group’s business to include imprints Five Mile and Echo Publishing.
Horin started her career in publishing at Five Mile 13 years ago in June 2003, where she was a commissioning editor of children's books for six years. Most recently she was publisher at Hardie Grant Egmont, which company she joined in 2013, credited in delivering the company’s biggest year of licensed titles as well as developing a design-centric children’s list.
Besliev said: "I am so pleased to have Niki join the team. Her unparalleled dedication to editorial integrity and delivery of commercial success is exactly what we’re committed to at Five Mile. Her commissioning and publishing over the years and most recently at HGE are market-leaders."
Horin added: "It’s a very exciting time to be back in the fray at Bonnier Publishing Australia. Five Mile is celebrating its quarter century birthday this year. It’s a wonderful opportunity to build on a reputation 25 years in the making with a renewed focus and fresh approach."
Horin joins the Bonnier Publishing Australia Senior Leadership Team alongside Kay Scarlett, publishing director of Echo Publishing; Amanda Rice, group sales director; Scott Westbury, c.f.o.; and Adele Coultas, group HR.
