Hot Key buys debut YA thriller set in Norway
Hot Key Books, an imprint of Bonnier Zaffre, has acquired world rights, including translation, film and merchandising, for a YA ghost story set in the remote snows of contemporary Norway.
Commissioning editor Felicity Johnston acquired the manuscript for The Twisted Tree, by debut author Rachel Burge, from Skylark Literary Agency founder Amber Caraveo.
Johnston said: “We can’t stop talking about The Twisted Tree. It’s scary, atmospheric, imaginative and instantly different. And the writing’s superb. Rachel’s a terrific new talent – we feel honoured to be launching her fiction career.”
Hot Key Books will publish The Twisted Tree in e-book for Halloween this year and mass-market paperback in January 2019.
