Digital author Darren O'Sullivan will join the HQ Fiction list after the HarperCollins imprint acquired three of his crime novels.
Senior commissioning editor Dominic Wakeford bought UK and Commonwealth (including Canada) rights for three novels from Hayley Steed at the Madeleine Milburn Agency.
O’Sullivan’s third book, Closer Than You Think, will be published by HQ Digital in March 2019. His fourth, fifth and sixth books will be published by HQ in paperback, ebook and audiobook, with the first in the contract due for publication in Spring 2020.
Trained as an actor, O'Sullivan also directs theatre and helps young performers. He lives in Cambridgeshire with his partner and son.
He said: "I am delighted beyond words to be writing three more novels for HQ, and I’m very grateful to Dom and the whole team for their faith, hard work and commitment to me as an author. I’m also so grateful to Hayley Steed for being a such a fantastic champion of my writing. Here's to our exciting journey."
Wakeford said: "When I took over Darren’s publishing earlier this year, it was clear that his star was in the ascent. I’m delighted to be moving him to the main HQ list, where he will be an important member of our burgeoning stable of crime and thriller authors."
