I.B.Tauris has promoted Tomasz Hoskins to the position of senior editor and signed rights to the third book by "famed China expert" Kerry Brown.
Hoskins, who was previously commissioning editor at the company, acquired world rights to Brown’s third trade non-fiction book entitled China's World.
China’s World will unpick the "growing influence" of China in world affairs, focusing on the Chinese leadership’s relationship with the United States, the "controversial" island-building programme in the South China Sea and China’s recent interventions in Africa, the Pacific and North Korea. It is due for release early in 2017.
Hoskins said: “We are delighted to be publishing a third book to complete Kerry’s trilogy on how power works in China. Kerry is one of the finest minds writing on China today, and he understands the Chinese system and how it affects us all like no other. Readers wants to know what China is doing and what it wants, and this will be a must-read."
Brown’s biography of the president of China, Xi Jinping, China: The Rise of Xi Jinping is to be published by I.B.Tauris in April this year.
