Independent children’s publisher Imagine That, formerly known as Top That Publishing, has hired several former Bonnier employees, including Ross Taylor.
Taylor, formerly a commercial director at Bonnier-owned Igloo, will take on the role of operations director at Imagine That, where he will work with m.d. David Henderson and help launch new imprints, including fiction imprint Willow Tree.
Henderson has also hired Hayley Maye, formerly of Little Tiger Press and Igloo Books, as senior production controller, and Gemma Cooper as project editor, with responsibility to expand the novelty and activity book portfolio. Cooper was previously managing editor of Studio Press, part of Kings Road Publishing.
The new hires come at a time when Imagine That is preparing to celebrate 20 years of being in business.
“It is no mean feat for an independent, children’s publisher based in Suffolk to have thrived for 20 years in the industry,” said Henderson. “Our passionate team is at the heart of this success story, and that is why we are so focused on both attracting new talent and fostering our own, to set us on course for another 20 years. Imagine That has a cohesive culture, with all departments working together for the same goal of publishing engaging children’s books that will develop learning and encourage fun.”
