Profile Books, Bloomsbury Publishing, Faber and Sweet Cherry Publishing have been shortlisted for the 2024 Independent Publishing Awards.
This year, the shortlists celebrate 38 different organisations and four people, with nine publishers featuring on the shortlist more than once. Moreover, 10 IPG members — including Granta Books, The Emma Press and Bedford Square Publishers — are in the running for the first time.
The awards will be presented at a Gala Lunch at the Oxo Tower in London on Wednesday 24th April, with guest presenters including Anita Anand and William Dalrymple. In addition, CPI Independent Publisher of the Year will be chosen from a shortlist comprising the winners of the five Publisher of the Year categories.
"Last year wasn’t easy for anyone in publishing, but our nominees achieved remarkable success and showcased the huge value of independents — from entertaining and educating readers around the world to supporting booksellers and other partners to showing our industry the way on better sustainability and diversity," said IPG chief executive Bridget Shine. "Commiserations to the many more excellent publishers and people who didn’t make these shortlists, and the very best of luck to all those who did."
