As part of this year's UK-India Year of Culture initiative marking the 70th anniversary of India's independence, this month's London Book Fair will feature a Spotlight on India series of events.
There will be enhanced presence from Indian exhibitors, with nearly 40 staged over three pavilions, and a focus on digital innovation from India.
Meanwhile a series of events at the fair will include an opening ceremony featuring a speech from Richard Charkin, executive director of Bloomsbury, publisher of Wisden India, plus a showing of the Karma Sutra Ballad, a dance performance; author Amit Chaudhuri in conversation in the PEN Literary Salon; a "book to screen" discussion featuring Shrabani Basu, author of Victoria & Abdul (The History Press); and a session on How to access the Indian Book Market hosted by Sumeet Gupta, the director of the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), featuring speakers from Cambridge University Press, Nielsen India and Lonely Planet.
Beyond Olympia, cookery writer and entrepreneur Anjum Anand will be at the Charlotte Street Hotel as part of London Book and Screen Week.
