Independent booksellers Rossiter Books has announced plans to open its sixth store. The new branch, located on Church Street in Hereford, will open its doors in mid-May.
Husband-and-wife team Andy and Victoria Rossiter opened their first bookshop in Ross-on-Wye in 2010, adding branches in Monmouth, Leominster and Cheltenham over the years. The latest branch, in Malvern, opened in 2023.
Like its sister shops, the Hereford bookshop will carry a wide range of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books. There will also be a “carefully chosen” range of cards, stationery and book-related products.
As with previous branches, the team plans to host events in Hereford, using local venues to welcome authors throughout the year. They also host a book group, which meets once a month.
The owners said that the “range of many independent shops in the area” makes it the “ideal location” for the new branch.
Andy Rossiter added: “We are delighted to be opening a shop in Hereford. The perfect opportunity arose in Church Street and we are excited to already be working on site to transform the building into a Rossiter Books bookshop.
“News has been spreading fast following our activity at the shop and after we announced the opening on social media, and we have received lots of fantastic, positive responses.”
