Sales and marketing agency Inpress is to hold a "festival of publishing" this Friday (26th January) under the theme of "I Did it My Way: A Celebration of the Creative Spirit".
Now in its sixth year, the event will be held at Friends House, Euston Road in London. It will feature industry figures including Valerie Brandes, founder of Jacaranda Books; literary agent Julia Kingsford; and Sarah Shin, co-founder of new feminist press Silver Press.
The panels start at 10am, covering topics including General Data Protection Regulation, diversity in recruitment, marketing and the political power of independent publishing. The day will also see practical presentations on audio and Arts Council England support for literary fiction with ACE literature director Sarah Crown.
Intended as a "celebration of all things creative, with a practical twist", the festival will be a "showcase of the inventiveness, innovation, diversity and agility of independent publishers, and all those working in our industry", said Inpress.
