Random House Books is publishing a guide for start-ups by former Goldman Sachs investment bankers Courtney and Carter Reum.
Senior editor Nick Humphrey acquired UK and Commonwealth (excluding Canada) rights in Shortcut Your Startup from Kate McLennan at Abner Stein, on behalf of Foundry Literary + Media.
The book's authors are said to have invested in and driven the success of many "major" startups, including five companies now valued at over a billion dollars and enterprises such as Pinterest. In the book, marketed at seasoned business leaders and first-time founders alike, they will offer readers advice, taking them from the initial idea and launch stages of a new business, all the way through to planning an exit strategy.
It will be published in trade paperback and e-book in January 2018, with a mass market paperback edition following later. Gallery Books will publish in the US.
The book comes with the endorsement of Arianna Huffington, founder and c.e.o. of Thrive Global, Huffington Post, who said the book would "show you how to launch a sustainable startup so that both you and your business can thrive".
Humphrey commented: "Courtney and Carter Reum have written a book that will be invaluable to anyone starting their own business – it’s smart, entertaining and full of wise, and sometimes unconventional, advice. The Reum brothers are expert investors and fantastically well-connected in the worlds of business and entrepreneurship, and I know that many around the world will benefit from the insight that they share in their book."
