Anna James is launching a new podcast exploring how children’s fiction has affected writers and creatives.
Available across all major podcast platforms, the first season features eight episodes which will be released weekly on Wednesdays from 12th April. Each episode features James in conversation with an author about their favourite children’s or YA book.
The guests in the first series are a selection of children’s and adult writers, with more signed up for series two. For series one, the guests will include Katherine Rundell discussing Charmed Life by Diana Wynne Jones (HarperCollins Children’s Books); Gabrielle Zevin on A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett (Puffin Classics); and Laura Dockrill on The Story of Tracy Beaker by Jacqueline Wilson (Yearling).
While the podcast is largely suitable for children and families, it is created for an adult audience, not younger listeners. It will be produced by Adam Collier and features artwork designed by Hester Kitchen.
James is the author of the Pages & Co series (HarperCollins Children’s Books), which has been translated into 22 languages. She is also a freelance journalist, formerly book news editor at The Bookseller and literary editor at Elle UK.
