Hutchinson Heinemann has appointed James Pulford to the role of editorial director, non-fiction. He will take up the position on 12th August 2024 and report to publisher Helen Conford.
Pulford joins from Atlantic, where his list as senior editor has spanned current affairs, ideas, history, biography/memoir and investigative journalism. He has published Johnson at 10 by Anthony Seldon and Raymond Newell, This Is Not America by Tomiwa Owolade, The Prime Ministers We Never Had by Steve Richards, The Diaries of Mr Lucas by Hugo Greenhalgh and Among the Trolls by Marianna Spring.
In his new role Pulford will focus on acquiring history, ideas, and culture. He said: "I’ve loved working at Atlantic and have learned so much from my brilliant colleagues and inspiring authors, but this is an unmissable opportunity.
