Octopus Publishing Group has appointed Jane Link as junior commissioning editor at its literary imprint, Brazen. She will join on 22nd July and will report to the imprint’s publisher, Romilly Morgan.
Link has been editorial assistant at Jonathan Cape since 2022, and before that worked as rights assistant at Canongate. At Jonathan Cape/Vintage she has worked with authors including Ocean Vuong, Jeanette Winterson, Alison Bechdel, Momtaza Mehri, Anne Carson, Brandon Taylor and Ottessa Moshfegh. She is also the founder of the online publication and platform bigblackbooks, where she heads a team working with writers both emerging and established across the genre spectrum.
"Jane is an editorial force to be reckoned with and is as erudite as she is gutsy," Morgan said. "I can not wait for Brazen to have double the woman power as we expand and grow our decorated list. As always, with Brazen, expect the unexpected.”
Link added: “I’m honoured to have the chance to work with and learn from visionary and maverick Romilly. I can’t wait to begin my journey acquiring agenda-setting books that disturb and move the dial with style and feeling."
