Jemma McDonagh has announced the launch of her own agency. McDonagh was joint managing director at The Marsh Agency and, prior to that, she worked at Gregory & Company Authors’ Agents.
The Jemma McDonagh Agency (JMA) will represent its own list of authors as well as selling English language and translation rights for a select group of agencies, across fiction and non-fiction.
McDonagh said: “2024 is my 20th anniversary in publishing—what better way to mark the occasion than by setting up my own business? My aim is to provide my clients, scouts and publishers with a thoughtful, curated experience. I’m thrilled to announce my first rights partnerships with DeWitt Authors and the Helen Heller Agency.”
Heller said: “I’ve known Jemma for a long time. She’s an extraordinarily gifted agent who has always done great work for my clients. I’m thrilled to be working with her!”
DeWitt said: “As another female founder who recently took a chance on establishing my own venture, I’m profoundly delighted to be joining Jemma as she forges her new path in the literary landscape. I’ve worked with Jemma as both an author and now an agent. Her care, knowledge, depth of contacts and personal touch is second to none.”
Jemma can be reached at jemma@jmcagency.co.uk or via her website www.jmcagency.co.uk.
