Musician Jessie Ware has written a cookbook for Ebury with her mother Lennie Ware, Table Manners, based on their successful podcast of the same name.
Table Manners The Cookbook will be published on 5th March, retailing at £22. It features recipes made with their guests on the “Table Manners” podcast including sausage and bean casserole made with Ed Sheeran, the “drunken crouton and kale salad” presented to Yotam Ottolenghi and the two blackberry and custard tarts served to Nigella Lawson. Celebrity chef and author Tom Kerridge has called it “a proper family feast of a cookbook”.
After two years of hearing your pleas and over a year of writing (and arguing) we are thrilled to announce our cookbook! This book is filled with cherished recipes -many which have been featured on the podcast.

Ebury publishing director Lizzy Gray acquired world rights from Charlie Brotherstone of Brotherstone Creative Management.
“Cooking through Table Manners, The Cookbook really is like having Jessie and Lennie at the table with you: brash, funny and full of opinions,” Ebury said. “In true Ware style, their beautiful cookbook is with filled easy meals and no-nonsense shortcuts. It’s divided into Effortless, A Bit More Effort, Summertime, Desserts and Baking (thanks to Jessie’s brother Alex), Chrismukkah (Christmas, Hanukkah and celebrations) and, of course, Jewish-ish Food. Table Manners is food for real people with chaotic lives, with the ultimate goal of everyone eating together so unfiltered chat can flourish. Whether it’s a family supper like the Ware’s raucous Friday night dinners, a midweek meal or an informal get-together.”
Featuring more than 100 recipes, it is also described as "a journal of their family’s most pertinent and cherished food memories, along with friend’s dishes, simple suggestions and exciting recipes for everyone to try at home".
Jessie Ware, who won Best New Voice at the 2018 Audio Production Awards for ‘the podcast, said: “Throughout this book, we talk about special moments, souvenirs and domestic rituals for you to share and perhaps carry on with your loved ones. My mum has always said we put the ‘fun’ in dysfunctional, which I guess is represented in this book. It’s a dance through all the worlds of food we love, with recipes that will live on through sharing.”
Gray said: “I always look forward to Wednesdays - Table Manners day when a new episode is released. With every episode, I’m as eager to make and taste the food Jessie and Lennie have cooked for their guest, as I am to hear the conversation. Ebury Press is so proud to be publishing their first cookbook from their brilliant podcast. It’s as enjoyable to read, and to publish, as the episodes are to listen to.”
