Jessie Goetzinger-Hall has been promoted to commissioning editor at Mountain Leopard Press, an imprint of Headline. Goetzinger-Hall has been assistant editor at Headline for the past year, and joined the imprint on Monday 16th December.
She has been at Headline for three years, working in a support editorial capacity on authors including Dorothy Koomson, Alex Hay, Bobby Palmer and Maggie Stiefvater. She has also been building her own list of authors, including Elle Cosimano and Ciar Byrne, and earlier this year acquired the Taylor Swift-inspired poetry anthology Invisible Strings.
In her new role, Goetzinger-Hall will be acquiring book club novels "that explore universal issues through unique dilemmas or under discussed communities; speculative fiction with a strong hook or that feels grounded in the real world; aspirational, fast-paced mysteries, heists or thrillers; and genre-defying commercial novels that ambitiously blend elements of the above".
She will report into editorial director Beth Wickington.
Wickington said: "I am delighted to be welcoming Jessie to the Mountain Leopard Press list. Since I joined Headline last November I have been impressed with her creative thinking, publishing nous and exceptional author care. She publishes smartly and passionately and I’m so excited to see the authors and books she will bring to the list, as well as her ambitious vision for the Mountain Leopard Press identity."
