Serpent’s Tail has appointed Titan Books' Miranda Jewess to run the Serpent’s Tail crime list.
Jewess, formerly acquisitions and managing editor at Titan Books, will join the company as senior commissioning editor for Serpent’s Tail Crime, on 4th February 2019. She will be commissioning titles across the crime, thriller, and suspense genres.
Serpent’s Tail publisher Hannah Westland said: "As soon as we met Miranda, we knew she was a rare talent. She is a true crime-fiction aficionado, and is super-smart, full of original ideas, and knows the market inside out. Serpent’s Tail has a long and proud history of publishing ground-breaking crime fiction. Miranda is the perfect person to revive that tradition and take it to new heights."
Westland added: "We can’t wait for her to join our team."
Jewess said: "This is an incredible role, and I’m very grateful to everyone at Serpent’s Tail for giving me the opportunity to expand their crime list and find new and diverse voices in the genre. I’ve admired Serpent’s Tail as a publisher for many years, and I’m so excited to be joining such an impressive team. It will be bittersweet to leave my brilliant colleagues at Titan Books, not to mention so many talented authors, but I know they will continue to do amazing work."
