Cover designer Jo Walker is leaving HarperCollins to join Pushkin Press as art director.
Walker is currently deputy art director at HarperCollins, where she’s worked for the last 10 years. Prior to that she worked at Vintage, Simon & Schuster and Bloomsbury.
“She has also created a host of striking covers for different London publishers in a freelance capacity and will continue to design on a freelance basis in her new role,” Pushkin said.
Pushkin Press m.d. and publisher Adam Freudenheim said: “I’m thrilled that Jo will be joining Pushkin and both designing many of our covers herself as well as being involved with the art direction for covers across all our imprints.”
Walker added: “I am delighted to be joining Pushkin Press and look forward to contributing to the aesthetics of a company I've long admired. The quality of their publishing and attention to design are what drew me to the job and I'm very excited to be joining Adam and the team in January.”
Walker will take up her new role on 14th January and can be reached from then on jo@pushkinpress.com.
The news follows the announcement that former Orion publicist Poppy Stimpson is joining Pushkin as publicity director.
