A redundancy process has begun at independent Head of Zeus, with a number of posts involved, The Bookseller understands.
Staff at the company were told at a meeting last Thursday (6th December) that a total of nine jobs would be affected by cutbacks, in a measure designed to cut costs at the publisher. The roles are thought to be spread across all departments of the company.
Head of Zeus, founded in 2012, currently has a workforce numbering in the mid-thirties, having moved to new offices in Clerkenwell in January 2017 to accommodate the growing team.
The development follows two other departures. Former c.e.o. Amanda Ridoutwww.thebookseller.com/news/ridout-leave-head-zeus-675471"> resigned from the business a year ago. Commissioning editor www.thebookseller.com/news/helen-francis-made-commissioning-editor-hozs-apollo-446011">Helen Francis left the company over the summer.
Head of Zeus founder and chairman Anthony Cheetham declined to comment.
