Comedian and "I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here!" star Joel Dommett is publishing a book with Headline in February.
Senior commissioning editor Richard Roper acquired world rights from Rick Hughes at Off The Kerb.
Scheduled for publication on 8th February 2018, the book is entitled It’s Not Me, It’s Them: confessions of a hopeless modern romantic, and focuses on Dommett's "hilarious misadventures" in romance – from terrible first dates to getting catfished – featuring "excruciating" teenage diary extracts centred on his quest to find The One.
Roper said every story in the book was "pure gold" and, bringing the skill and ingenuity of his stand-up shows, the laughs come "so thick and fast you have to stop to catch your breath".
Dommett commented: "I’m so excited to have defied my English teachers' expectations and scribed a book that isn’t mostly pictures. It will be released on 8th February in time for the sexiest day — Valentine's day — and It will be the perfect gift for your loved one/lonely crying self. I honestly have never worked this hard on anything. Even harder than that time I made a bookshelf in DT with a glue gun. I’ve almost finished writing it and I really can’t wait for you to read it! I’ve never been more proud of anything and I really loved that bookshelf."
Dommett, who also presented E4's "Made In Chelsea" after-show "Live In Chelsea", is currently on a sell-out stand-up tour, including two nights at London’s Hammersmith Apollo. He will also be appearing on Live At The Apollo in December.
