John Murray Press has announced the launch of its new imprint, John Murray Business (JMB) – formerly Nicholas Brealey Publishing.
Nicholas Brealey Publishing was a former independent publisher of more than 25 years, it joined John Murray in 2015.
From September, JMB will be home to authors such as Tom Peters, Jordan Belfort, John Amaechi and Eric Schmidt, and the rebrand will be accompanied by the release of seven new titles.
Launch titles include The 80/20 Daily by Richard Koch, The Five Talents That Really Matter by Barry Conchie, Our Future Is Biotech by Plain English Finance founder Andrew Craig and a new edition of Coaching for Performance – the handbook for Sir John Whitmore’s GROW model – now fronted by Tiffany Gaskell.
Editorial Director Holly Bennion said: “This bold new imprint identity communicates our focus on serving ambitious professionals and the leaders, coaches and HR managers that support them, and positions us firmly in the same market as key competitors in the UK and US. It draws on our unique legacy combining NB’s longstanding business expertise with John Murray Press’ 250-year history of publishing influential authors and economic thinkers.
"This clearer positioning will serve us well into the future as we continue to explore different ways of content delivery for customers, grow our international and inclusive business publishing, and work with organisations such as TED, McKinsey, Meyers-Briggs, Saïd Business School and BetterUp.”
Deputy art director Bekki Guyat said: “Working with the legacy of Nicholas Brealey and John Murray to build a new identity for a market leading business publisher has been an exciting challenge. My focus was on effectively illustrating the drive, progress and knowledge that John Murray Business books and authors provide. I’m pleased with how this is shown in the new logo both in the steps up, and in the corner piece which doubles as an arrow reflecting our readers’ positive trajectory.”
John Murray Business is an imprint of John Murray Press, whose parent company is Hachette UK.
