At HarperCollins, The Borough Press has appointed Carla Josephson to the position of commissioning editor, replacing Holly Ainley, who will leave HarperCollins in December to "pursue other projects".
Josephson is currently an editor at Simon and Schuster, where she commissions literary-commercial fiction as well as working editorially with authors from Graham Swift to Philippa Gregory.
Suzie Dooré, publishing director of The Borough Press, said: “I am thrilled to welcome Carla to the Borough team. She has an excellent eye and a real passion for publishing, and I’m excited to see what she brings to the list. At the same time we are all very sad to say goodbye to Holly, who has been a delightful colleague and acquired some wonderful books.”
Josephson said: “Simon & Schuster has been my publishing home for over six years and I will miss my authors and colleagues more than I can say. I’ve been a huge admirer of The Borough Press since its inception and I couldn’t pass up such an amazing opportunity to join Kate Elton, Suzie Dooré and their team, who publish their many brilliant authors with boundless energy and style.”
She will join the Borough team in the New Year.
