Faber’s editorial director Louisa Joyner has been promoted to publishing director with immediate effect.
Joyner, who has a PhD in post 1990s American fiction, joined Faber in 2016 as editorial director. Previously she held the role of editorial director for fiction and canons at Canongate Books. She has also held positions at HarperCollins, Virgin Books and Atlantic Books.
Faber publisher Alex Bowler said: “Since her arrival at Faber three years ago Louisa has acquired a list of true quality and breadth, with powerhouse debuts such as Bev Thomas, Claire McGlasson and Ingrid Persaud, writers of the calibre of Nathan Filer, André Aciman and Akwaeke Emezi, and Anna Burns, who went on to win the Man Booker Prize with Milkman.
“Louisa has also been instrumental in driving outstanding publications for Max Porter and Leïla Slimani. Her transformative energies and acumen have been fundamental to this era of Faber’s extraordinary success.”
