Kate Nash Literary Agency has signed seven new writers for the agency’s 2024 BookCamp mentorship scheme, following a three-month selection process.
The agency received 488 submissions this year – comprising 20,000 words and an outline – which were considered by the agents. The seven writers selected for the scheme will receive editorial support from an agent over a period of six months, helping them to complete their novels.
Moreover, the agency is also offering a series of online events on the "practical business" of being a new author.
Amy Armitage-Reay, Victoria L Humphreys, K T Jayne and Lorna Morrow have secured places on the scheme, alongside Patrick Ost, Anima Sahu and Helen Varley.
The BookCamp has launched the careers of 11 new authors since its inception in 2020, with debut novels going to Avon, Headline and Hodderscape, among many other imprints.
“As a literary agency we are perfectly placed to nurture new talent and BookCamp allows us to spot that talent and help shape writer’s work from an earlier stage,” said Kate Nash. “As our agency strap-line says, tomorrow’s stories start today.”
