Katie Loughnane has been appointed publishing director at Pan Fiction.
Currently editorial director of Century fiction at Cornerstone, Loughnane “will help to grow the Pan Fiction imprint by implementing the commercial fiction strategy and acquiring new talent for the list” the publisher said. Before joining Century in 2021, Loughnane was senior commissioning editor at Avon.
During her time at Century, Loughnane spearheaded the general fiction and romance lists, publishing bestselling authors including Holly Smale, Laura Jane Williams, Katie Flynn and Emma Heatherington. She also brought bestseller Phillipa Ashley over to Century from Avon last year.
Loughnane will join the company in June, reporting to Pan Fiction publisher Francesca Pathak.
Loughnane said: “I am incredibly proud of the list I have built at Century and will miss my wonderful authors, team and colleagues hugely. However, the opportunity to take the next step in my career and join Francesca, Lucy and the impressive team at Pan Macmillan was one that I simply couldn’t resist. I am inspired by the vision, energy and growth of Pan, and feel very excited for the new chapter ahead.”
Pathak added: "I am thrilled that Katie is joining us at Pan Fiction at a time of huge growth. With Katie’s creative spirit and intuition, her clear commerciality, and her strategic vision, she is going to be a completely brilliant addition to Pan Fiction at a time when we are incredibly excited about our future.”
