Literary agent Molly Ker Hawn has been appointed director of The Bent Agency UK.
The agency’s UK arm has "grown significantly" this year, with the addition of agents Sarah Manning and Nicola Barr and the subsequent expansion of its list into adult fiction and non-fiction, as well as continuing its "strong performance" in children’s books.
Ker Hawn said: “It’s been a tremendous couple of years for us. As well as our sales on both sides of the Atlantic, our translation sales go from strength to strength, with over 450 rights deals this year for our US and UK clients — Jessica Townsend’s middle-grade debut Nevermoor alone has sold in 30 territories, and Anstey Harris’ novel Goodbye, Paris just sold into its seventh territory. Our extremely close relationship with our US colleagues allows us to support our clients in a way that no other agency can, and it means we have a collaborative culture that makes our work an enormous pleasure, too.”
TBA UK's clients include Waterstones Children’s Book Prize winner and middle-grade mystery writer Robin Stevens, Sunday Times bestseller Stephanie Garber, Carnegie Medal-shortlisted Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock, Irish bestseller Jo Spain, Tom Fietcher Book Club selection author Sibéal Pounder, and YA fantasy star Alwyn Hamilton.
