Independent content company Kew Media Group is to acquire a stake in author Jeff Norton’s London-based Awesome Media & Entertainment company.
Originally founded around the rights in Norton’s novels, Awesome has since moved into developing original material for television and optioning third party IP. Kew Media Group is a content company that produces and distributes multi-genre content worldwide. It is based in London, LA, New York and Toronto.
The new collaboration is part of Awesome’s continued strategy to build its creative development and scripted ambitions globally, and will further expand KEW’s position as a "leading independent creative group" in the entertainment industry.
Steven Silver, founder and c.e.o. of KEW, said: “Jeff is an amazing talent. Under the Awesome banner, he has generated the most extraordinary slate of content and we are thrilled he chose KEW as his partner.”
Norton added: “This partnership with KEW gives Awesome the resources to scale up into a world-class, creatively-driven IP and production company. I’m looking forward to continuing my obsession with creating and developing the world’s most impactful scripted stories and bringing them to the global campfire that is modern television.”
Awesome recently announced the co-development of "Stomp School" with Cloth Cat Animation, based on Norton and Leo Antolini’s debut picture book.
