Kimberley Nyamhondera is joining the communications team at Pan in a newly created senior publicity manager role, effective 10th June. In her new role, Nyamhondera will have a specific focus on literary non-fiction and fiction across the list and will report to publicity director Poppy North.
Nyamhondera joins from Hodder & Stoughton where she was previously publicity manager and worked as part of the team that launched Death of a Bookseller by Alice Slater and the upcoming The Ministry of Time by Kaliane Bradley, as well as on the first memoirs by George the Poet and presenter and senior reporter Ashley John-Baptiste’s forthcoming Looked After. She has been shortlisted for a number of PPC awards, including for her work on Chibundu Onuzo’s Sankofa during her time at Little, Brown.
Olivia-Savannah Roach also joins the team as senior publicity executive from Canongate to lead on the publicity for the Tor list, with Emelie Gerdin joining the team in a newly created publicity assistant role.
North said: "We’re delighted to be welcoming Kim to the team. She is a creative, ambitious and hugely talented publicist who has not only created outstanding publicity campaigns but also demonstrated first-class author care. We look forward to her leading on some of our biggest books. The expansion of the team and Kim’s arrival alongside the brilliant Olivia-Savannah and Emelie will help us continue to deliver creative, sales-driving campaigns of the highest standard. After a stellar 2023 and start of 2024, I’m so excited about what our award-winning team will achieve at full strength."
Nyamhondera added: "I’ve been at Hachette since I started on their inaugural traineeship scheme. I’ve worked on the books of my dreams and taken more lift selfies than any one phone can store. Now I’m stupidly excited to start at Pan Macmillan, working across fiction and on their brilliant non-fiction publishing. It’s incredible to be stepping up as senior publicity manager, working alongside Poppy and the award-winning comms team, who I’m excited to learn from and whose campaigns I have long admired."
