Independent academic publisher Boydell & Brewer has appointed Antje King to be its new group sales and marketing director. She succeeds Michael Richards who is retiring in April after 19 years with the company.
King, who has held senior sales and marketing roles at McGraw-Hill, Pearson and Macmillan Education/Springer Nature, will join Boydell & Brewer on 22nd March, ahead of Richards' departure on 2nd April.
Commenting on her new appointment, King said: "I’m very excited and honoured to join Boydell & Brewer. While there is a longstanding tradition of high-quality publishing, there is also a focus on growth and commercial success, and I look forward to playing a crucial role in extending our reach and impact. Being part of an independent and employee-owned business is an added bonus!"
Group c.e.o. James Powell said: "I am delighted that Antje is joining us. She has the enthusiasm, experience and tenacity to make a significant contribution to the next chapter in Boydell’s development. She joins a company that is in robust health, a fact for which Michael Richards can take a lot of credit. He will be greatly missed, and we wish him well for his retirement."
Boydell & Brewer is in its 52nd year and has been employee-owned since 2015. The company is based in Woodbridge, Suffolk, and Rochester, New York State.
