Eleonoora Kirk has joined the Elina Ahlback Literary Agency as an agent, based in London.
In Kirk’s role, she will deal directly in the UK and Commonwealth, Dutch and Nordic territories for the agency’s Finnish authors, and as a co-agent in the Nordic territories for the agency’s American clients.
Kirk was formerly a foreign rights agent at Andrew Nurnberg Associates.
Agency C.e.o. Elina Ahlback said: “We are extremely happy to welcome Eleonoora Kirk to our wonderful team of agents. Elina Ahlback Literary Agency is a truly global agency, with offices in New York and Helsinki and now Eleonoora being based in London – we will together conquer the world with Finnish literature."
Kirk, who was born in Helsinki but has lived in the UK for over 20 years, will be the fourth agent in the team headed by Ahlback, who founded the agency in 2009.
She said: “I couldn’t be more excited to join Elina and her team at this time when Finnish literature is beginning to capture the imaginations of readers around the world. My Finnish heritage has always been a great source of pride to me, so to be offered the opportunity to work with Elina and her fantastic roster of authors is a dream come true. I’m looking forward to helping the agency grow its business in the Anglophone territories and increase the presence of Finnish literature in translation globally.”
