Kit Nevile has joined Hodder & Stoughton as senior commissioning editor. Nevile was previously commissioning editor at Canelo where he worked with a wide range of commercial fiction authors. In his new role he will be working on a range of crime and thriller, book club fiction, rom-com and historical fiction.
Previously, he has worked with authors including Alis Hawkins, Douglas Skelton, John Langan, Katie Daysh, Ling Ling Huang and Nick Louth.
Phoebe Morgan, publishing director, said: "Kit was hugely impressive during the interview process—he really blew us away, and he brings with him a wealth of experience, energy, entrepreneurialism and innovation, making him the perfect fit for our fiction team. I’m excited to see what he achieves in this key new role and I know he will do a wonderful job for his authors."
Nevile said: "I have thoroughly enjoyed my six years at Canelo, and I have learned a lot in that time about savvy commercial fiction publishing. I will miss my authors, and my brilliant colleagues tremendously, but I am thrilled to be joining Phoebe, Jo, Lucy and the rest of the Hodder & Stoughton team. Their list is one of the most exciting in the industry, with a historic track record of bestsellers and award winners. I can’t wait to get started! I love stories that draw you into their worlds in intoxicating fashion, employing unique and arresting concepts, razor-sharp suspense, beautifully rendered plots and rich characterisation. I’m incredibly excited to discover more wonderful authors and books as Senior Commissioning Editor at Hodder & Stoughton."
