Peter Kraus vom Cleff will become the new managing director of the German trade association Börsenverein des Deutschen Buchhandels on 1st January 2022. He succeeds Alexander Skipis, who will retire after 16 years at the head of the association.
Kraus vom Cleff, 53, has been with Holtzbrinck in various positions for more than 20 years, most recently as commercial director of trade publisher Rowohlt. In September 2020 he was elected president of the European Publishers Association FEP.
B√∂rsenverein is the governing body of the German book industry, representing publishers, booksellers and wholesalers. The association has approximately 4,500 members and apart from running the Frankfurt Book Fair organises two of Germany’s main awards, the annual Peace prize of the German Book Trade on the eve of Frankfurt as well as the German Book Prize.
