Inclusive children's publisher Lantana Publishing is to join Inpress for sales and marketing distribution, with books now available through Ingram UK.
The Newcastle-based sales and marketing agency, which focuses on supporting independent publishers, already has a 60-strong client base including Charco Press, Dead Ink Books, Penned in the Margins and Peepal Tree Press.
Sophie O’Neill, m.d. of Inpress, said: "We have long admired Lantana’s commitment to publishing diverse and inclusive children’s books. Taking on Lantana is a perfect strategic moment for Inpress, our commitment to children’s publishing and sales has grown organically over the last few years as our current publishers have produced more children’s and YA titles and Lantana’s mission to publish books from underrepresented voices fits perfectly with Inpress and the publishers we work with.
"Working with Lantana gives Inpress an opportunity to really develop our children’s sales and marketing efforts and we are really looking forward to working with Alice [Curry, m.d.] and her team promoting Lantana and their brilliant books, authors and illustrators."
Books are in stock at Ingram Publisher Services UK and can be ordered through the local Inpress rep.
Curry said: "Inpress’ commitment to quality, inclusive, independent publishing makes them the ideal partner for Lantana and we’re excited to build on the successes we’ve seen with Tricia and Andrew Macmillan of Macmillan Marketing Services and their team whom we thank for their key role in the tremendous growth we’ve seen over the past four years. With the underlying themes of our books – sustainability, inclusion, equity – as pressing as ever, we’re thrilled that our dedicated children’s list can find a new home alongside Inpress’ award-winning publishers, whose missions to change the publishing landscape for the better are all so strikingly clear."
