Literary agents Lucas Alexander Whitley and Factual Management have merged their staff together to form the Soho Agency.
The organisations initially joined forces in 2017 and said they had now brought together their literary and talent management into the new organisation. Staff will work out of the office in Wardour Mews, Soho, they first moved to eight months ago.
It launches today (25th February), promising a strong presence at the London Book Fair and Bologna.
Philippa Milnes-Smith will be the agency’s managing director. She previously worked at Penguin’s Children’s Books before joining LAW in 2001. She said: “We are proud to represent superb talent and IP creators, including authors of fiction, non-fiction and children’s books, TV presenters, illustrators, writers for stage and screen, brands, companies, charities, and online stars.
“Whilst remaining a boutique agency, we look forward to building on our success to develop fresh initiatives and markets on behalf of our clients across an increasingly diverse range of media. From our new home in the heart of Soho we aim to augment the existing team - Mark Lucas, Julian Alexander, Araminta Whitley, Sophie Laurimore, Philippa Milnes-Smith, Ben Clark, Carina Rizvi and Alice Saunders - with agents and partners who share our values.”
