Rowan Lawton pictured above will take on the role of m.d. at the Soho Agency following Philippa Milnes-Smith’s decision to focus on her agenting role.
Lawton began her agenting career at WME in 2004, before joining PFD and then going on to co-found Furniss Lawton, the first literary division of YMU, in 2012. She joined The Soho Agency in 2019.
Milnes-Smith will remain a director and shareholder of the company which was created in February 2019 as part of a merger of Lucas Alexander Whitley and Factual Management.
Lawton, who will also continue to work with her list of fiction and non-fiction authors, said: “I am honoured to be leading the Soho Agency team as we continue to grow and prosper in the support of our hugely talented clients. We have exciting plans for our future as a leading boutique literary, theatrical and talent agency.”
“We could not have found a better managing director to build on the success of the agency,” Milnes-Smith said. “Covid notwithstanding, our business has flourished and diversified in these past few years, and Rowan is the perfect person to chart our brilliant path forward.”
