Ebury Spotlight has appointed Abigail Le Marquand-Brown as commissioning editor.
She joins from HQ where she has worked on books by Claudia Winkleman, Tom Daley, Joe Wicks, Bosh!, Alex Light, Ed Jackson and Stuart Sandeman.
Reporting to Charlotte Hardman, publishing director of Ebury’s Entertainment Hub, Le Marquand-Brown will start on 14th November. From then, she can be reached at ALeMarquand@penguinrandomhouse.co.uk.
Hardman said: “As soon as I met Abigail I could see that she would be an exciting addition to the Spotlight team with a bright commissioning career ahead of her. Abigail brings an abundance of energy: she is a natural talent spotter with a passion for popular culture in all its forms, and she is brilliant at matching talent with the best project ideas, interrogating what audiences are looking for.”
The appointment brings Ebury Spotlight to full strength, the publisher says, as Le Marquand-Brown joins senior editorial director Lorna Russell, editors Michelle Warner and Claire Collins, and editorial assistant Jasmin Kaur.
Hardman added: “I’m really excited about this new era – there is such energy and ambition in the team, and I look forward to all that we can achieve together as we establish Spotlight as the home of entertainment publishing.”
Le Marquand-Brown said: “While I am sad to be leaving behind the team at HQ, I am delighted to be joining the talented team at Ebury Spotlight, who have already had an abundance of successes in their relatively short history. I am so excited to be working with Charlotte, Lorna and the rest of the team to ensure that Spotlight becomes even more of a destination for entertainment publishing, and to help shape the future of the list as it continues to flourish.”
