The Bradford Literature Festival has unveiled the third annual Creative Economic Conference programme for 2024, hosted by the University of Bradford, with a keynote from author and poet Lemn Sissay talking about the importance of art and culture in education and communities.
This year’s conference also includes speakers from McKinsey, Creative UK, Royal Society of Arts, BD25, RADA Council, British Council’s Arts and Creative Economy Advisory Group, ACE, Cause4, University of Bradford, British Council’s Arts and Creative Economy Advisory Group, M&C Saatchi, In Tune Executive Coaching Limited, Tharoor Associates and Culturelytics.
Key events and themes include the UK’s Creative Ecosystem: Seeing the Bigger Picture Report exploring the role of cultural industries in the UK, inequality of diversity in the creative sector, navigating the financial landscape and what this looks like for the creative industries.
Founded on the belief that the cultural sector can be the driving force behind the economic and social regeneration of the UK, Syima Aslam, founder, c.e.o. and artistic director, said: "This event is a unique opportunity for seasoned professionals and early career artists alike to share their insights and experiences within the UK’s vibrant creative sector. Our aim is to foster an environment where business and creative sector leaders can collaborate, drive innovation, and explore new pathways for growth."
The Bradford Literature Festival is now in its 10th year and this year features Ruby Wax, Shaparak Khorsandi, Corinne Bailey Rae, Miriam Margolyes, Mary Beard, Kate Bottley and poet Joelle Taylor. Tickets start at £5 and can be purchased at www.bradfordlitfest.co.uk.
