Nina Leon has joined Pérez Literary and Entertainment (PLE) as an associate agent while finance director Jack Mozley is now open for submissions for the first time.
PLE launched in February 2023 and is described as “a transatlantic agency working holistically throughout the English-speaking world”. The agency was founded by managing director Kristina Pérez.
Leon was previously a junior agent at High Spot Literary and her clients will follow her to PLE, including Jennifer Delaney, whose debut gothic romantasy will be published by Gollancz in August 2024.
Leon has also worked as a reader for Pan Macmillan South Africa and interned at the Irene Goodman Literary Agency. She said: “I’m excited to continue building my client roster at PLE as well as contributing to the growth and success of the agency.”
PLE’s Mozley is also opening to submissions for the first time and intends to build a science fiction list. Mozley, who holds a PhD in quantum physics, said: “SF’s capacity to disrupt and subvert dominant perspectives is central to why I fell for it, and I encourage submissions from writers from underrepresented backgrounds."
