Lyndsey Ng, formerly senior publicity manager at Hodder & Stoughton, has been appointed to replace Sheila O’Reilly as events and media manager at Village Books, Dulwich.
Ng, who has worked with a range of authors including Susan Calman, Peter Snow, Eric Schmidt, Louise Welsh and Jessie Greengrass, will start in September, and will continue to develop the events programme with owner Hazel Broadfoot.
Broadfoot said: “Lyndsey is a highly respected publicist who brings huge energy and professional expertise. Her inside knowledge of what is expected by publishers will be invaluable in taking our events programme to an even higher level.”
Ng said she was "absolutely delighted" to be appointed. "I’ve long admired the events that Village Books hosts and the calibre of authors they attract,” she added.
Village Books has a number of author events scheduled for autumn, including Graham Norton, Yotam Ottolenghi, Patrick Gale and Sebastian Faulks, with more to be announced in the coming weeks.
O’Reilly left her position at Village Books earlier this month to return to her home country of Ireland. At the time of her departure, O'Reilly said she had “absolutely loved every moment of my bookselling life,” and hoped to continue on in the book trade after a summer break.
