The winners of the 2024 Fingerprint Awards, the reader-chosen awards celebrating excellence in international crime and thriller writing, have been revealed.
The ceremony took place at the Leonardo Royal Hotel in London on Thursday 30th May during this year’s Capital Crime Festival.
Standout winners included None of This Is True (Penguin) by Lisa Jewell for Crime Book of the Year; The Only Suspect (Simon & Schuster) by Louise Candlish for Thriller of the Year; Death of a Bookseller (Hodder & Stoughton) by Alice Slater for Debut Book of the Year; and Over My Dead Body (Headline) by Maz Evans, for Audiobook of the Year.
The winners of the Publishing Campaign of the Year and the Lifetime Achievement Award were chosen solely by the Capital Crime Advisory Board, which is made up of people from all aspects of publishing including publishers, editors, booksellers, authors, bloggers and journalists. The Publishing Campaign of the Year was won by Hodder & Stoughton for Death of A Bookseller by Alice Slater and the Lifetime Achievement Award was awarded to crime fiction veteran Lynda La Plante.
Capital Crime Festival director Lizzie Dube said: "I’m truly overwhelmed by the incredible support from readers at this year’s festival. Despite it being only nine months since our last event, we’ve welcomed more visitors than ever before, with attendees increasing by an impressive 38%. This remarkable turnout shows just how much love for the crime and thriller genres continues to grow, and that Capital Crime is here to stay."
