I am thrilled she is stepping up to this really important new role. Little, Brown’s literary publishing already has immense strength, with world-class authors and some of the best editorial and publishing talent in the business. Clare will work with our fantastic imprint publishers to reinforce Little, Brown’s position as a market-leading literary house."
Smith added: "I have loved the last eight years at Little, Brown and am delighted to be given the opportunity to work more closely with the literary imprint heads here. Literary publishing faces many challenges – as well as many opportunities – and we are incredibly lucky to have such a diverse range of imprints in this area."
