Little, Brown senior publicity manager Niamh Anderson is the only publishing professional featured on the PRWeek 30 Under 30 awards list for 2024.
The project aims to shine a light on the industry’s "rising stars". The judges noted that Anderson has achieved four promotions in four years at Hachette UK. They praised her campaigns for authors including Julia Bradbury and Cleo Watson, across which she secured "extensive and sales-driving" coverage.
Anderson worked as a bookseller before joining Hachette in 2020. In her first two years in publishing, she twice won the Publishers’ Publicity Circle (PPC) award for Best Newcomer and has been shortlisted every year since for PPC awards.
Anderson has recently finished a two-year term as co-chair of Hachette’s Gender Balance Network in which role she drove policy change and orchestrated events. In 2024 she was also named a "London Book Fair Trailblazer".
Anderson said: "On top of being the publicity version of Forbes, it’s a significant accolade which I value immensely. I’m indebted to mentoring schemes and brilliant communications managers at Hachette UK and beyond who have encouraged me to think creatively and critically, to seek unique opportunities for professional growth, and to remember how exceptionally enjoyable it is to work in communications.”
Charlie King, c.e.o. of Little, Brown and Hachette UK International, added: “Niamh is a genuine PR superstar. Not only does she consistently deliver great campaign work that really gets results, but her relationship-management skills – with colleagues, authors and external contacts – display a level of maturity, emotional intelligence and composure that is remarkable for someone in the relatively early stages of their career."
