Little Tiger Group will plant more than 3,000 trees with global reforestation charity TreeSisters, one for every copy of Climate Action sold in the UK since publication.
Climate Action by Georgina Stevens, illustrated by Katie Rewse, was published in March 2021 with the goal to empower and educate young people on the subject of climate change. The publisher pledged to plant a tree for every copy sold in the UK, and the book has since sold through its first print run. Little Tiger will now plant 3,203 trees in 2022.
Stevens said it was “wonderful news” adding: "I am very grateful to Little Tiger Press for generously agreeing to plant one tree for every copy of Climate Action sold in the UK. And I am also very grateful to the amazing TreeSisters who are carrying out critical and timely work, empowering women and helping to combat the climate crisis, through effective sustained action.”
A spokesperson for TreeSisters said: “This is a wonderful milestone to celebrate. It is through generous donations and partnerships like these that we have so far funded the planting of over 25 million trees in the tropics.”
Stevens has worked in sustainability for more than 20 years and has used her experience to make the book as straight-forward, effective and inspiring as possible for young people. She is using 100% of her profits from Climate Action to get the book out to as many schools, non-governmental organisations and non-profit bodies as possible.
