Stripes Publishing, an imprint of the Little Tiger Group, is launching a range of illustrated fiction for emerging readers.
The range will be comprised of B-format fiction titles of around 3,000 words, and is intended to fill the gap between picture books and middle-grade fiction. The series will launch with four titles in hardback: The Climbers, written by Ali Standish and illustrated by Alette Straathof; Two Sides, written by Polly Ho-Yen and illustrated by Binny Talib; Little Rabbit’s Big Surprise, written by Swapna Haddow and illustrated by Alison Friend; and The Missing Bookshop, written by Katie Clapham and illustrated by Kirsti Beautyman.
Little Rabbit Big Surprise and Two Sides will be published in February 2019, followed by The Climbers and The Missing Bookshop in April. A further four books will follow in the Autumn.
Stripes associate publisher Jane Harris said: “We are known for publishing child friendly, accessible fiction with innovative cover designs, sensitively designed pages and high production values. We are now taking that expertise into colour fiction, creating a collection of original and diverse stories with global appeal, written by new and established authors all with their own voice and passions. I am thrilled to have such a talented list of authors and illustrators contributing to the collection.”
