Little Toller has reprinted Dara McAnulty's Diary of a Young Naturalist ahead of its publication date this week, following widespread media interest.
The Dorest-based independent press released the book on Monday (25th May), coinciding with the author reading excerpts for BBC Radio 4's "Book of the Week" programme.
The book exhibits McAnulty's connection to the natural world in his life as a teenager, naturalist and environmental activist. Little Toller acquired the rights to his diary directly last year, described by publisher Jon Woolcott as the press' "biggest book yet".
McAnulty is appearing at this year's digitised Hay Festival, in addition to coverage in the Guardian, Big Issue, Radio Times and Irish Times.
Woolcott said the coverage and public interest meant the company decided to reprint the book even before the official publication date. "To be able to do this is such strange times is a testament to the trade’s adaptability," he said, adding Little Toller had been "absolutely overwhelmed with the interest" in the title.
McAnulty featured on the cover of The Bookseller this month, when he was interviewed by associate editor Caroline Sanderson.
