Liverpool University Press (LUP) has acquired the publication backlist and forthcoming titles of Dunedin Academic Press.
Print distribution will move to LUP’s distributors, which are Wiley for the UK and the rest of the world, and Longleaf Services for the Americas.
"The acquisition of Dunedin’s strong-selling list, which has been carefully curated by Anthony Kinahan over the past two decades, will both complement LUP’s existing humanities-focused publishing and also move the press into Earth and climate sciences for the first time," said Anthony Cond, chief executive of LUP.
Anthony Kinahan, director of Dunedin Academic Press, added: "I am very pleased to have found such a good home for Dunedin’s list and its authors."
Celebrating its 125th birthday this year, LUP publishes about 160 books a year, as well as more than 40 journals and a dozen digital collections. Meanwhile, Dunedin has concentrated on developing its Earth sciences list, in particular the Introducing series that uses colour to illustrate earth and environmental science in an accessible way.
