A programme of events focusing on Indonesian publishing will be held at the London Book Fair (LBF) this year, including insights into children’s books and current market trends.
Indonesian Market Focus will see six dedicated seminars across the three days, with further authors and speakers appearing in the Insights Events and conference programme. There will also be events at the Indonesia stand (5D125) and the Spice Café (4B20).
The London Book Fair Market Focus programme, which is run in partnership with the British Council, will also include a programme cultural events celebrating Indonesian authors and books both in and outside of LBF.
The programme was organised by the LBF and Publishers Association alongside Indonesia’s Agency for Creative Economy and the National Book Committee of the Ministry of Education and Culture.
It begins with an event on children’s books, which account for half the industry’s total revenue, on 12th March from 4pm at the Children’s Hub. At 5.30pm that day, the CC Hub will feature “Picture and Travel Books: Not Just for the Coffee Table”.
On 13th March, the Olympia Room will host a seminar on Indonesia’s creative industry at 10am. An overview of the country’s publishing industry will be provided at the CC Hub at 1pm.
The following day will see the focus move to consumer consumption at 12.45pm in the Buzz Theatre, followed by a discussion of indie publishing from 2.30pm in the CC Hub.
